# About

I've spent my career on both sides of the table that matters most in a company: the one where decisions get made, and the one where those decisions get overseen.

On the operating side, I held executive technology leadership roles at Intuit, Active Network, and LifeLock/Symantec before becoming Chief Technology Officer of Shutterfly — leading global technology strategy, AI-powered personalization, ecommerce platforms, and cybersecurity for a multi-billion-dollar business under Apollo Global Management.

I know what it feels like to own the roadmap, defend the budget, and answer for the outcome when the board asks a hard question.

## Today

I serve as Chief AI & Innovation Officer at EVOTEK. My work is helping organizations move AI from experimentation to disciplined, accountable deployment — not another framework, not another slide describing what AI could theoretically do.

I also advise founders and go-to-market teams at emerging technology companies — including security startups such as Reach Security, Onyx Security, Jetstream Security, Oasis Security, and Upwind — on both organizational design and technology decisions. And I invest personally in companies I believe in.

## Why I Do This Work

Most people offering AI advice have either operated the technology or governed it from the board. I've done both — so I don't lead with hype or fear. I lead with the question that actually matters: what changes, what doesn't, and what do you need to decide right now versus revisit in a year.

That perspective also shows up in my writing and on *Inflection Point* — more on both elsewhere on this site.

## Outside of Work

Outside of work, I'm a sailor. Hot yoga and cycling are my passions — the water, the mat, and the road are how I reset when the rest of the work is boards, strategy, and hard questions.
